COTC is Hiring

Hi Church!

Since our earliest days as a community children have been a major part of our life. Joyfully, God has brought a large number of families with little ones, or ones on the way. We regularly have over fifty children participating in The Garden on Sundays. A team of wonderful volunteers and childcare workers help to make The Garden a safe and fun place of learning, where children grow in the knowledge of God and as ministers of the Gospel every week. Children are a big part of what God is doing at COTC.

With this reality in mind I’m excited to let you know that we are looking to hire a Director of Children’s Formation in the coming months. You can see the job description here, but broadly the intention is that this individual would support and lead our team in growing and developing The Garden as a place of formation in Christ, help resource families in discipling kids, and even do some work in reaching out to kids in the community beyond our church. If you know of anyone who might be interested please spread the word, and please join me in praying that God would call the right person.

I am deeply grateful to our current team, including Luci Bates, Heather Silsby, Shannon Coelho, Blake Mathews and many others. If you see them around, say thank you. They and I are looking forward to how the person in this role will help to serve our children and help them to follow Jesus on the way of the cross.

Scripture teaches us that children are gift from God; like all gifts, we want to receive and steward the great gift of the many kids that God has given us. We as parents and adult members of God’s household each have a wonderful responsibility and role to play to nurture and cultivate our children in the knowledge of God’s love and the faith. I am looking forward to how this new role will help us to lay hold of that good work well.

In Christ,

Peter+

Ps. Speaking of kids, don't forget to sign up for Creation Care camp in the next week if you haven't already done so!
