Hi Church,

As I’m sure you’ve all been keeping track of, the off-season trades in the National Hockey League have been coming fast and furious. Can you believe that the Minnesota Wild traded Eric Staal to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for Marcus Johansson? You cannot. 

In keeping with this trade frenzy that has captivated all of our attention, we are getting into the action at COTC with a preacher swap this Sunday. Nothing permanent, but this Sunday we are excited to have Rondell Trevino, associate pastor of Hope Community Church and director of The Immigration Coalition (IC), preaching at all three of our services. In exchange, I’ll be preaching on Hope Community’s live stream. A more than fair exchange. Rondell will be preaching on the picture of the kingdom of God we find in Isaiah 10:1-9. You won’t want to miss it! He’ll also share about the good work the IC is doing. 

Another feature different for this Sunday, is our service for kids that will stream at 9:30am. This is a short, 15 minute service that will function in place of The Garden. It will premier on our Youtube channel.  Sarah has put together a great time of prayer, worship, and Bible learning based on Daniel. Following this brief service, kids are invited to check in on zoom with some of our Garden volunteers before our normal live-stream starts at 10am. I’m so grateful for the creative work Sarah has put in to help form our kids in the knowledge of God. If you have any questions about the service you can email her here. 

Please remember to pre-register for the Sunrise Services this Sunday if you’re able. And also to sign up for our Parish Meetings (on Zoom) next Tuesday and Thursday. If you are newer to our community this is a great opportunity to find out more about our common life.
