The Secret to Contentment

Hey COTC!

I pray that y'all are well!

The Coelhos are off on sabbatical, please keep them in your prayers in this season of rest.

As Peter+ mentioned in last week's e-news, we'll be spending the summer in the book of Philippians. Some think of Paul's letter to Christians in Philippi as sharing the secret of contentment. Even during hardships such as illness, abuse, imprisonment (Paul writes the letter from prison), Paul is able to find contentment in God. He wrote the letter as encouragement to Christians that even in the face of suffering, they can live in a way that is true to God. Philippians is one of the shorter books of the Bible, with just four chapters, so I'd love to encourage y'all to take some time to read it, on your own, with a group, your family, or household. I also love reading in a few different translations (i.e. NIV, CEB, The Message, KJV). If you'd like to engage with Philippians in a different way, try listening Streetlights. To dig in a bit deeper, we also recommend watching on The Bible Project and reading some of the other resources they offer that will help deepen your understanding. Watching on the the Bible Project is also a really fun way to engage with kids. Lastly, if you'd like to do a study, N.T. Wright's Philippians: 8 Studies for Individuals and Groups is a great tool.

As a staff, we're excited to dive into this time of learning and growing with y'all.

The peace of Christ,
Kimberly+
