Hi COTC Family,

This Sunday is the fifth Sunday of the month, which means it’s a Healing Prayer Sunday at COTC. It’s been a while since we’ve had a Healing Prayer Service, so we wanted to give some information on what to expect.

Prayer is, of course, central to our Christian Faith. While we pray every Sunday during our worship service, through collects, the prayers of the people, and on our own, we’ve found that setting aside extended time for healing prayer as a community has been an essential part of our life together. So, on Sunday, we will bring our petitions for healing to the Lord.

Following this Sunday’s sermon, Fr. David will lead us with prompts and postures for prayer as we invite the Spirit to minister to us. We will then enter into a time of prayer and worship. During this time, we will also have clergy available to offer anointing with oil. We will have prayer ministers available to pray with you during communion, as well.

As you head into the weekend, we encourage you to seek the Lord in prayer and preparation for Sunday's service. Ask the Lord to reveal areas in your own life where you might need healing physically, mentally, emotionally, relationally, etc. How might the Lord also be inviting us to pray for healing in our city, nation, and other area of our lives?

We are praying for you, COTC, and we look forward to worshipping with you and praying together on Sunday.

The peace of Christ
