Family Meeting Recap

Hi All!
 
It was wonderful to be with you all this past Sunday, and to be able to share some of what God has done in our midst over the past year — and some of what we are looking forward to.
 
One of the things I’m most excited about is the formation of our “Interim Parish Council” of Paul Van Allen, Angela Wong, Blake Matthews, Bruce Silsby and Shirley Wofford. I’m grateful to God to have the opportunity to work with these faithful servants, and I’m inspired by their love for Jesus and his church. I’m thankful that they are willing to serve in the life of COTC during this season.
 
At the meeting I also encouraged us all in the role we have to play in the further establishing of COTC as an embassy of the Gospel. One specific thing I suggested was that we might pray daily, in a concerted way, for the establishment of COTC as a community of blessing abounding in “kingdom fruitfulness.” To facilitate this, I wanted to encourage us to each set a smart phone reminder daily at 12:12 p.m. to pray for COTC. Let’s give it a try!

It was a joy to remember together the past year. As a new Christian year begins with start of Advent, I’m hopeful and expectant of fresh ways we’ll taste and see that the Lord is good.
