One Year In & A Big Announcement
This Sunday, we will celebrate the one-year anniversary of Church of the Cross. While we began worshiping as COTC on the first Sunday of Advent in 2015, we had our “grand opening” on the final Sunday of January 2016. So, we’re using this day as an excuse to celebrate the goodness of God that is the church, and the small slice of that which we get to partake of as COTC. We will have brisket, Amy’s Ice Cream and a bouncy house for kids following the service, so plan to stick around afterward! Bring a side to share! Bring a friend!
There are also a couple of other things going on this Sunday. First, we will make a significant and exciting announcement regarding the life of COTC. I’m really looking forward to sharing some news related to our life and mission as a Gospel community. Additionally, we will transition this Sunday in our sermon series on the life and person of Jesus to a focus upon the teachings of Jesus. We will start at the beginning of the Sermon of the Mount, known as the Beatitudes. These teachings provide us with such a rich and compelling vision of what life in His inaugurated kingdom is like. As we look at the teachings of Jesus, my hope is that we will be further drawn to the majesty and glory of Him, and caught up in the vision of reality He gives us. It will be a full Sunday!
In Christ,
Peter+
