All Nations

This Sunday we will celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit. On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was poured out on the church, empowering people from all backgrounds and nations to announce and embody the reality of God making all things new through Jesus Christ. The Spirit continues the work of Jesus in and through the church in the world. Through the Holy Spirit, we can know the power, comfort, peace and wisdom of God’s presence. As we will talk about on Sunday, Pentecost is a big deal!

Following the service, we’re having a party/potluck to celebrate this day and the fact that we are drawn together in the power of the Spirit as one community, one body. If you’re able, bring a dish that represents your roots (ethnically, culturally, etc.) in any way. We will also mark the diversity of the church in a number of other fun ways. I hope you can join us, and feel free to invite others as we celebrate that through the Holy Spirit we are made together to be a new people, with new hearts for God and His renewal of all things!

Grace and Peace,
Peter+
