The Most Wonderful Time of Year
In scene after scene - in the womb in Nazareth, in the manger in Bethlehem, in the Temple in Jerusalem – the spotlight consistently shines on Jesus. He is, after all, what the story is all about. He is what the waiting of Advent and the celebration at Christmas are all about.
- Darrell Johnson, The Most Wonderful Time of All Years
It's Christmas next week and there is a lot going on in the life of the church during this twelve day stretch. Through services on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Lessons and Carols on 29th, and even Epiphany on January 5th we will mark this season. However much or little you are able to participate in our corporate times together (more details are below) I hope that your would have your heart and mind drawn to Jesus in a special way over these days.
Through this month there is so much to be engaged in and to enjoy. At the center of all the festivities and celebration is the simple and wondrous truth of Jesus. On him the spotlight shines, and his glory shines forth for all to see. As our attention and focus are fixed on Jesus may you have a fresh sense of wonder and joy in his glory and goodness.
Anticipating with you!
