Joe Ho's Deep Dive

The Bible, like the ocean, rewards both play on the surface as well as exploration in its depths. One gains from swimming in the shallows, skimming through a text, but also receives a great deal from plunging to murkier depths, asking hard questions and actively studying. Mature engagement with God’s Word involves leisurely readings on the surface as well as braving deeper waters.

Beginning next Wednesday, May 5th, we have the opportunity to dive deep into the book of Romans with Joe Ho. Alongside our sermon series “The God Who Does Not Fail,” Joe will be leading this class every Wednesday in May online, from 7:30pm to 8:30pm. These sessions will provide a more thorough tour of the book. There will also be a specific focus on the different ways Christians have looked at Romans throughout history (Old and New Perspectives on Paul, apocalyptic, etc.).  Joe will help us read and apply Romans as the word of God to our lives today. Each session will include teaching and a lot of discussion.

Many of you will know Joe from when he’s taught or preached at COTC. He heads up focus ministries with Intervarsity and is a gifted and compelling Bible teacher. Joe also has a particular interest in Romans, having focused in his graduate studies on a particular thinker associated with reading Paul in a new and fresh way. He also let me know he's benefited in the last year or so from focusing on Romans devotionally and in light of some newresources.

We’re really blessed to have this opportunity! If you’re interested in diving a little deeper with us shoot me an email and I’ll pass the Zoom link on to you.

In Christ,

Peter+
