Hi Church,

I’m excited to introduce Nick and Meg Comiskey to you! Beginning at the end of this month, and following a long process with a lot of prayer, discernment, and conversation with a number of great candidates, Nick will begin serving at COTC as our new associate rector.

Originally from California, Nick has been serving at Christ Church Overland Park, a church in our diocese in Kansas City, for the past seven years or so. During his time there Nick served specifically in the arenas of pastoral care, family life, and groups. These past three years Nick also led the planting and formation of a thriving new congregation, Christ Church Mission.

Having met in university at Grove City College, Nick and Meg have been married for seven years. Meg works in finance in the energy sector. Both Nick and Meg are marked by a deep love for Jesus, a commitment to his church, and a desire for others to know Jesus and grow in his likeness. I also think they’ll find an easy home in Austin with so many of their own interests expressed actively here!

Nick is a gifted communicator of the Gospel, and person of high character. I am overjoyed that the Lord has called him here to serve our community. As we anticipate moving into the property at 5701 Cameron Road in the coming years, I’m especially looking forward to the ways that Nick’s vision and gifts will help build us up to move in and serve our community well. As associate rector, some of what Nick will be doing is working with groups for care and discipleship, as well as helping me to think creatively about our growth in mission and participation with God in Northeast Austin and the world.

While Nick won’t officially begin until the end of January, the Comiskeys will be with us in worship this Sunday as they are visiting Austin, preparing for their move here. Please join me in praying for them as they say goodbye to friends and family in the Kansas City area, and for the Lord’s guidance and provision for them as they settle into life in Austin. In the coming weeks there will be some opportunities to practically serve the Comiskeys as they move and adjust to life here. Please also pray for the whole community of COTC as we come to celebrate our third year as a church at the end of this month! There’s a lot of transition happening in our community; in the midst of it may we have the grace to know Jesus as Lord, and to serve Him joyfully and faithfully.

Joyfully in service with you,

Peter+
