Fallow Fields

Hi Church!  

Every July at COTC we "let the ground lie fallow." We deliberately roll back our calendar of events in these weeks to allow space for rest, play, prayer and planning for the future. This July things obviously look different, but we are still taking this time. Staff are taking vacations (us Coelhos are excited to be back!) and, especially in the coming days and weeks, we’ll be praying and planning for the months to come. Please join us in praying for the Lord’s leading for COTC in this extraordinary season. 

As a part of this “fallow” time I’m delighted that we’ll be hearing from a few guest preachers over the next month; both Cory Tabor and Sarah Smith many of you will know as they’ve preached at COTC before. This coming Sunday, however, The Rev. Kimberly Deckel, a deacon and pastor at All Souls Phoenix, will be preaching. Kimberly is a gifted preacher and pastor whom I’ve gotten to know a little over of the past few months, after seeing participation in a panel regarding racial reconciliation. I’m excited for her to open the Gospel of Matthew for us. 

Since Kimberly is brand new to us, I wanted to encourage you to watch this short video as a way of getting to know her before Sunday.
