Healing Prayer

Hi COTC,

This Sunday we will continue in the book of Philippians. It doesn't seem possible, but we just have a few more weeks left in Philippians. This Sunday's passage is Philippians 4:2-7:

"I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. Yes, and I ask you, my true companion, help these women since they have contended at my side in the cause of the gospel, along with Clement and the rest of my co-workers, whose names are in the book of life.

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

This Sunday is also the fifth in the month, which means it is a healing prayer Sunday. At COTC, healing prayer services make space for us to seek the Lord and ask for healing by His Holy Spirit. As Sunday's passage urges us to do, we will with prayer and petition present our requests to the Lord. Following the sermon, we will have an extended time of prayer and worship, with prayer workers available in the room to pray for specific needs for healing that we all have. Are there physical, emotional or spiritual needs that you might bring before the Lord in this time? I wonder how our God might wish to minister to us in this time. We will also have large pieces of butcher paper around the sanctuary for you to write your prayers and praises on. For those of you participating online, feel free to share prayer requests in the chat or submit a prayer request here and someone from our prayer team will reach out to you later in the week. I want to encourage you to be preparing for this time of worship and prayer.

With peace, love, and joy,
Kimberly+
